TREVOR MINTON

Trevor Minton Cello, Denver Cello Teacher, Denver Cellist, Denver Cello Weddings, Wedding Cello, Denver Cello, Denver Broadway cello, Colorado Cello

Trevor was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota where he started learning music at the age of 4. He attended the Black Hills Suzuki school studying cello first with Bruce Knowles then Liz Benusis. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree as a full-scholarship recipient from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying with Karen Becker. He then received his Master of Music degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder where he studied with Judith Glyde and Thomas Heinrich. Additional principal mentors include Erik Anderson, Robert deMaine, and David Ying.

Aside from solo and orchestral performances, Trevor has also studied chamber music with members of the Chiara String Quartet, Takács Quartet, and Ying Quartet. He has attended the renowned Bowdoin International Music Festival and Dakota Chamber Music where he recently returned as faculty. Trevor was a semi-finalist in the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition: The Art of Duo in 2018.

An active freelancer, Trevor performs with the Boulder Philharmonic, Colorado Ballet, Opera Colorado, Central City Opera, and Colorado Symphony. Recently, he is involved with Music for Food, a musician-led initiative to fight food insecurity in local communities.

Currently, Trevor resides in Denver, CO where he teaches. Trevor performs both in Denver and surrounding areas as well as out of state upon invite.
